We’re proud to announce that we now have a Baxter robot!
Baxter is an industrial robot built by Rethink Robotics (Boston, Massachusetts). First introduced in September 2012, Baxter is a unique robot that can perform a variety of repetitive tasks while working alongside humans. Built with safety in mind, Baxter has several features that make it ideal for human-robot interaction, including a 360° sonar and front camera for human presence detection, springs and force sensing at each arm joint to feel bumping of people or objects, and direct movement of the arms in order to train tasks.
